Food Shares

The School of Our Lady, Queen of Peace and Reconciliation offers on-the-farm education to students in grades 7-12 in Mt. Solon.  Students (and sometimes parents) work to defray cost of tuition.  This will be a joint effort between Catholic and Orthodox churches when we begin our 2nd year fall of 2016 and has a religious component.

We are offering pastured beef, chicken, eggs, turkey and pork to customers in the Mt. Solon/Bridgewater area along with 10 kinds of fruits and berries, vegetables, melons.  As sugar is the culprit to most health issues, we offer reduced sugar or sugar-free jams and preserves, dried and fresh herbs to supplement the food share.  Generally you would get 6 to 8 different veggies + 2-4 lbs. meat + fruit or jam/preserves + occassional herbs.

Right now lettuce, seed onions, radishes, beets are up and growing, but with the weather, not sure all fruits will be available.  While the farm has offered CSA's in the past, this is the first year it will be expanded to include meats & poultry.  New chicks arrived a couple of days ago, hens are 3 weeks old now along with the ones we've had.  This farm operation has been in existence since 1997.

Please email if you are interested:  SchoolofOurLady@gmail.com.  Prices range from $112 to $460/monthly share depending on size of family.  Shares are limited to 8 families.
